Fast-packed over from Batopilas to Urique Saturday. Took 8 hours and 20 minutes trail time, and of course I visited with Prospero in Los Alisos for an hour, ate a good lunch and caught up with going'ons of La Sierra; when I left I was good and fueled up if not a little stiff from hanging! The roller coaster single-track from alisos to the river is still in very good shape after we have been able to get that government grant to maintain it the last couple of years...Prospero--Prosperous, is a good man and we thank him! Mas Locos will tell ya that Los Alisos is the beautiful aid station on the nicest trail section of our run....It is full of juicy and sweet Toronjos--grapefruit trees. This lush arroyo paradise ranchito is located at the 27 mile or so turn-around point of our run. And for those whom sign up for the extended program, we will walk over and down into this place of spring water and fruit and experience the last 9 miles of the race into Urique.
Upon arrival, trotting into Urique, the lovely ambiance was evident with the smiles on the people's faces. Los Perros wagged and grinned. The word is that El Presidente--Omar Loya, will give us pretty much anything we ask for, and more....Korima: The circle of sharing continues, moves on...as life is a gift--Korima. I ask for something, mostly strength and blessings, and receive twice as much.....abundance; may we always be thankful for what is. What else is there, but what is; verdad? The word travels fast in the deep canyon country of la sierra Madre; and when running with the company of angels, good things happen.
